Replace Color in Photoshop allows you to change a single color  and its shades  in your image. If you want to select different colors at once, it will not work.
Step 1 : I will be using this free stock image which you will find here
It belongs to mjranum-stock
I will be changing the color of the dress to this.
Step 2 : Go to Image>Adjustments>Replace Color to access it.
Step 3 : The replace Color dialogue box opens.
Step 4 : Press CTRL+J to duplicate the Background layer so that you will be working on a copy and not the original image.
Step 5 : Click the Eyedropper tool in Replace Color.
Step 6 : I have clicked with the Eyedropper on a light portion of the dress.
Step 7 : Note that the square color boxes at the top and bottom in Replace Color change to the color clicked.
Step 8 : Now click the Add to sample Eyedropper.
Step 9 : Click on another portion of the dress and continue clicking with the Add to sample Eyedropper on the dark and  light shades of the dress.
Step 10 : Keep on clicking on the dress till the image of the girl turns white in Replace Color.
Step 11 : Move the sliders to the left and right and the dress and the square box on the right changes.
Step 12 : The dress has changed color, and unfortunately also the face. Moving the slider will give different colors. We will  fix the face later.
Step 13 : I have moved the slider to +26. Move the Fuzziness slider at the top to increase the color selection.
Step 14 : The dress looks like this. Some of the color cast in the face has disappeared. But it could remain and in does in this image too though to a lesser degree.
Step 15 : Now move the Saturation and Lightness sliders to you liking. Note that the box on the right reflects the changes as you move the sliders. Click OK when you are satisfied.
The image look like this.
Step 16 : Click the Add Layer Mask button. A Layer Mask forms on Layer 1  on which we changed color.
Step 17 : Zoom in on the face.
Step 18 : The Foreground Color is set the default Black.
Step 19 : Click in the top panel to open the Brush controls. Drag the Hardness slider to 0. You can increase the size of the brush by pressing ] (right square bracket and decrease it by pressing [ (left square bracket.
Step 20 : I am painting with the Brush to reveal the original skin tone.
Step 21 : Paint the face as also the fingers.  That is all.
