A quick and easy way to burn data discs

Free Disc Burner is a basic but easy-to-use tool for creating data discs.

In general, you'll simply drag and drop files onto the program, click Burn, and watch as they're copied to disc. (The program supports CD, DVD and Blu-ray.)

Free Disc Burner does have a few more hidden features, though. You're able to create multi-session discs, for instance (it's possible to add data to a disc later). There are options to customise the file system of a disc (ISO9660, Joliet and UDF are supported.) And the "Add image" option allows you to burn ISO images to disc.

There's nothing more advanced, though; you can't rip CDs, create audio CDs, transcode videos, create ISO images, or carry out any of the other tasks you'd expect from a more full-featured disc burning packages. Free Disc Burner is strictly data discs only.

Please note, the installer will by default equip your PC with the Ask toolbar, and change your browser search and home pages to Ask.com. If this isn't what you want then choose the "Custom installation" option during setup, and clear "Include the Ask Toolbar" and "Set Ask.com as my home page".

Verdict:
Free Disc Burner is quick, and easy to use, but it's also distinctly short on features. Don't bother unless you only ever burn data discs.
