Google Project HostingGoogle code is a project hosting platform from Google. You can easily upload your necessary project files and javascripts to Google server. Most of the time when we use some scripts from tech blogs then we can see that they are hosting their scripts on Google code. Assume a condition when some tech author close down his/her blog and delete project then what will happen to your favorite widget/gadget those will not work. Now a days Google is under cleanup process and deleting those project which are not following their guidelines and consuming more Google code space or bandwidth in term of download and upload. In such case it is better to create an own project and host all necessary files. It will just take 5 minutes.

Complete following steps to create a project on Google code ››

  1. Land to http://code.google.com
  2. Click on create a new project
  3. Fill all the necessary information as shown in video tutorial
  4. You should select an available license as per requirement
  5. Click to 'Create project' button
  6. Project will proceed to project homepage and project has been created.
  7. Next step is uploading a file to Google code. Go to 'Download' tab and click on 'New download' button.
  8. Fill summary of file, give description (optional), browse file and include labels (optional) as shown in video tutorial
  9. Hit 'Submit file' button to upload it
  10. After uploading a file get its permalink for distribution or use as shown in video tutorial. Hereunder is sample permalink:
